Traders And Transporters Bicker Over GST Numbericon

Surat: Textile brokers and transport firms are quibbling over last's request to outfit GST enrolment number of consigner and proctor for bother free transportation of material merchandise to different states.

Market sources said bundles of saris and dress material worth crores of rupees have been stuck at transport go-downs after transporters made it compulsory for the dealers to outfit GST enrolment quantities of the representative also.

Alliance of Surat Textile Traders Association (FOSTTA) and VyaparPragatiSangh (VPS) mutually denounced the activity of the transporters and called it illicit.

"There are numerous little brokers in the market who are yet to get enrolment numbers. The individuals who have the enrolment are confronting issues in clubbing their GST number with their particular financial balances. In such a circumstance, the transporters are hassling the brokers by requesting GST number of the recipient and consigner both," VPS president Sanjay Jagnani said.

Jagnani included, "This isn't right, even the as of late closed GST Council meeting had given alleviation in e-way charge and no punishment is to be exacted on supply of products without GST number. We will take this issue to senior experts in the state charge division and hotel an official grievance against the transporters."

Surat Textile Goods Transporters Association president YuvrajDeshle stated, "The transporters will meet to examine the issue. We would prefer not to pester the brokers. All things considered, the transporters are likewise losing business in Diwali."
