StoryThe protagonist, Adi(Vijay Varma), is onto his first assignment after being recruited for Mumbai crime branch. He faces a situation where he stands before a vicious murderer, Shiva(Nawazuddin Siddiqui), at the murder spot with weapon in hand. Adi, being on the situation's edge, thinks of the three possibilities: shooting him, letting him escape or shooting him below the waist and let the law decide upon him.

Review : This film is based upon a thin line of making instantaneous decisions when you are at a very critical point. For presenting such a small moment by a feature film needs a solid screenplay, which is the strongest point of the film. The screenplay, with its engaging twists and thrills, always keeps the audience at the edge of their seats.

The director, Amit Kumar, who is known for an acclaimed short film, 'The Bypass', does a good job with his direction. He doesn't miss this opportunity to make the audience believe in the subject of the film, which is 'taking decisions at a go'. He is successful in extracting the best from his actors as the main leads, Nawazuddin and Vijay, acts very convincingly. For a thriller to work and hover over the minds of the audience, the part of the film which goes unappreciated is the background score. The background music of the film is very complementing. Each scene's score is definitely adding up and building what is required for a scene to work.

Coming to the acting performances, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who plays the antagonist, is the star. In each frame, he acts so tremendously that audience may feel threatened by the potrayal of his character and whatever vicious he does in the film. Vijay Varma, playing the protagonist, has performed very well. Being a new comer, he has successfully induldged himself into the character given by the director. All the other characters in the film have performed well and have not failed to compliment their respective characters.

On the whole, if you are a thriller-lover, Monsoon Shootout is a treat!
